Prediction of Discontinuous B-Cell Epitopes Using Logistic Regression and Structural Information

چکیده
B-cell epitopes are special regions of antigens recognized by the binding sites of immunoglobulin molecules (Van Regenmortel, 1993). These epitopes play an important role in vaccine design, disease diagnosis, and allergy research (Saha and Raghava, 2006). Although many experimental techniques have been widely used to detect B-cell epitopes, the process is both time-consuming and laborintensive. Consequently, it is indispensable to develop complementary computational methods for accurate prediction of B-cell epitopes.
